  Denied an argument at Wizbang

Argument:

Should FEMA step in where local direction is lacking?

Given:

Mayor Nagin and Gov Blanco did not perform their duties.

Response:

By Wednesday, at least, someone with clout in the present admin should have taken action.

1. The MSM did an amazing job providing footage and commentary for all to debate the issue.

2. Let's all chip in and buy FEMA and the ADMIN some TV's.

Blaming Nagin and Blanco for failure does not dismiss the terrible lack of coordination and direction from the Federal Govt.

Read FEMA's press release BEFORE the storm hit.

Here's a quote from Brownie on Aug 28th:

“There’s still time to take action now, but you must be prepared and take shelter and other emergency precautions immediately, said Michael D. Brown, Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response. “FEMA has pre-positioned many assets including ice, water, food and rescue teams to move into the stricken areas as soon as it is safe to do so.

They will also:

The funding and direct federal assistance will assist law enforcement with evacuations, establishing shelters and other emergency protective measures.

In case there is still any doubt...Brownie provides the rope and makes the noose:

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Michael D. Brown, Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness and Response and head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), today urged all fire and emergency services departments not to respond to counties and states affected by Hurricane Katrina without being requested and lawfully dispatched by state and local authorities under mutual aid agreements and the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

“The response to Hurricane Katrina must be well coordinated between federal, state and local officials to most effectively protect life and property, Brown said. “We appreciate the willingness and generosity of our Nation’s first responders to deploy during disasters. But such efforts must be coordinated so that fire-rescue efforts are the most effective possible.

Well coordinated...hmmm...seems like a pattern.

EVEN THIS VERSION WASN'T ALLOWED.

The quotes were denied.

Damn...now Wizbang is unable to host a decent argument. What's the problem????

This is what I received:

Your comment was denied for questionable content. The following text, "t..." is not allowed.

What the hell is "t..."?

Well coordinated...hmmm...seems like a pattern.

Check out my site at:

It's not just about taking down Bush or Republicans

An example:

If I'm watching a football game and I see a call that goes against my team...

1. If I thought it was a bad call...I complain.

2. If replay shows it was a good call...I don't complain.

Point: If there was less dogmatic, partisan whining about legitamite calls against the team...maybe the country would function alot better.

EVEN THIS WAS NOT ALLOWED:

Wizbang...what's up?

How about a little detail in the denial of post.

This is what I got from Wizbang:

Your comment was denied for questionable content. The following text, "t..." is not allowed.

No further detail.

My argument was to suggest a view other than from the primary post.

UPDATE:

I haven't reviewed this yet...time constrainsts.

Fran,

The parser considers the text string a potential abuse, not the blog authors. If you want t-dotdotdot, then use a space (t ...).

You should follow up your complaint with an acknowledgement that you were not denied a posting at Wizbang because of your positions but because a simple software process identified it as questionable.
